Predictions for the MLB Playoffs

Published by wagner13454 at 3:17 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

So here we are again, another season in the books and the playoffs about to start. This will mainly be about the teams that are in for sure but I’ll throw a few predictions out there too. My guess is the Whitesox will choke and the Twins will make the playoffs just in time to get taken to the woodshed and lose the series to the Rays in 4 games.

I think the Sox have run into the wrong team, the Angels are way to good, play the game right and don’t give up many easy mistakes. If the Sox are going to win this series the Angels basically need to fall apart defensively and I don’t see that. When Dustin Pedroia is your MVP, it shows me that your offense is not what it used to be, the threat in that lineup is gone. Sure Jason Bay is good, but Manny single-handly scares you, his precence will be missed like it or not.

ANGELS IN 4

Which brings me to the Cubs-Dodgers series. I think this will actually be a great series. Both have pitching, some big boppers, and a strong pen. I hope the Cubs dont think they have a free pass because they might have gotten the hardest matchup in the major leagues. The key to this series is they must win at home. Manny is Manny and you never know when he will go off, and the Dodgers have been hot lately, so that scares me. Once your in the playoffs anything can happen. The Cubs have probably been the best all around team in the majors this season, unless you want to argue the Angels then that’s fine too… But they need their key guys to show up. DLee and Aramis need their names called in this series or it will be a short one. They need to step up if they want to go to the next round. I think this series will go down to the last game, with the Cubs barely coming out on top just due to the fact they have a little more starting pitching than the Dodgers do…

CUBS IN 5

Now comes the choke artist Brewers and the fighting Phils. I want the Phillies to win just because i hate the Brewers so much. Everything adds up to the Brewers losing too. CC has been on 3 days rest for 4 starts in a row now, even though he has a 0.83 era in those starts, its bound to catch up to him. Sheets is hurting and got pounded against the Cubs this week, and well there bulpen just doesn’t scare me at all. They have some hitters but they are very strikeout prone. Talking about strikeout prone, how can Ryan Howard be so good yet so bad. Here is a guy that leads the league in rbi and homers yet he bats like .240. Just think if he batted .280 what he would do… The Phillies have an excellent closer and some veteran pitching but my gut feeling says the brewers pull this out somehow, so ill say…

I think you might be giving the Dodgers a bit too much credit… Or I would think that if they were playing a team as deep and as good as the Cubs so long as that team wasn’t the Cubs. But being a Cubs fan all my life, I know that things are always interesting. I don’t think Cubs in 3 is out of the question, but Cubs in 5… Let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised.
